REFLEXÕES SOBRE A LITERATURA, A HISTÓRIA E A AMAZÔNIA: PERI, SIMÁ E WUATA-WUARA

Resumo

A relação entre História e Literatura, hoje os textos literários e ficcionais estão crescentemente sendo considerados como fontes de informação diversas para as ricas e multifacetadas abordagens que a História adotou nas últimas décadas. História e Literatura tratam do mesmo objeto, o homem, intentam ambas à sua maneira entender o Mundo e o Homem de formas singulares, mas não excludentes. A Amazônia é compartilhada por povos que falam diversas línguas, inclusive aquelas herdadas da colonização europeia na região, em países como as Guiana Inglesa, Guiana Francesa e o Suriname. Se não atentarmos para esse fato, não estaremos indicando a Literatura amazônica, mas a Literatura da Amazônia Brasileira. Encontra-se então a literatura amazônica em um ambiente invejável quanto a experiência da criação em contextos nacionais diversos, mas nem sempre em contextos sociais e econômicos totalmente diversos. De fato, muitas vezes encontramos autores de nações diferentes que identificam seus enredos onde encontram similitude em muitos pontos. Não falamos aqui daqueles enredos que poderíamos chamar universais: o amor, o ódio, a cobiça, a vingança, falamos de temas com historicidade específica.

The relationship between history and literature, today literary and fictional texts are increasingly being considered as diverse sources of information for the rich and multifaceted approaches that history has taken in recent decades. History and Literature deal with the same object, man, they both try in their own way to understand the World and Man in singular but not exclusive ways. The Amazon is shared by peoples who speak several languages, including those inherited from European colonization in the region, in countries such as English Guiana, French Guiana and Suriname. If we do not pay attention to this fact, we are not indicating the Amazonian literature, but the Brazilian Amazon literature. Amazonian literature is then found in an enviable environment for the experience of creation in diverse national contexts, but not always in totally different social and economic contexts. In fact, we often find authors from different nations who identify their plots where they find similarity at many points. We do not speak here of those plots we might call universal: love, hatred, greed, revenge, we speak of themes with specific historicity.
